The Elaine Thorp Award for Bereavement Care aims to recognise the vital work done by midwives, nurses, and other health professionals to care for parents affected by pregnancy loss or the death of their baby. 

Congratulations to this year's winner, Janine Dougan, who received her award at the Sands Garden Day on 7 June, 2025. 

Julie is a retired Midwife and Health Visitor from Northern Ireland, who was nominated by bereaved parents Victoria and Thomas for the care she provided following the loss of their daughter, Alexa.
